Workflow Template
Lintel Installation Check Workflow
Captures a lintel and opening installation inspection, notifies the builder/client of the result, and if failed routes rectification work to the bricklayer with re-inspection by the inspector (up to 2 cycles) before final sign-off.
Lintel and opening inspections often stall when a failed check needs rework, because there's no clear way to hand the fix to the bricklayer and get it re-checked without losing track of what happened. This workflow captures the installation inspection from a submitted form, notifies the builder or client of the result, and if the check fails, assigns rectification work to the bricklayer with re-inspection by the inspector, allowing up to two rectification cycles before final sign-off. Inspectors, bricklayers and site admins run it directly from the form submission through to a passed result.
Business Outcomes
- Cuts back-and-forth between inspector, bricklayer and builder on failed checks
- Keeps every inspection, rectification and re-inspection on one traceable record
- Reduces delays between a failed check and the rectification task being assigned
- Gives builders and clients automatic status updates without chasing the inspector
- Standardises the rectification and re-inspection cycle across all sites

FAQs
How do I set up this workflow for my team?
Publish the template in your workspace and it's ready to run straight away, no development work needed. Add your inspectors and bricklayers as workspace members so tasks can be assigned to them, and share the public request form with whoever submits inspections.
Who fills in the initial inspection form?
The inspector completes the request form on site, entering details like openings checked, lintel type, bearing lengths, flashing and corrosion checks, photos and the overall result. No account is needed to submit it, since it's a public form.
What happens if the overall result is a fail?
The record status is set to Rectification and a task is assigned to the bricklayer, due in 2 days, to fix the failed checks and record what was done along with photos. Once that's saved, the inspector gets a re-inspection task due in 1 day to check the work and record the outcome.
How many rectification cycles does the workflow allow?
The workflow supports up to 2 rectification cycles. If re-inspection fails again, it loops back to the bricklayer for further rectification before the cycle limit is reached.
Can I change the tasks or due dates in this workflow?
Yes. You can describe the change you want in plain English, or edit the steps directly in the workflow editor, for example to change the bricklayer's 2-day deadline or add extra fields to the inspection form. Earlier versions of the workflow are kept so you can see what changed.
How does the builder or client find out the result?
They receive an email automatically once the status changes, either confirming a pass on the first check or confirming the work was rectified and passed after re-inspection. They don't need an account to receive these updates, since they're sent directly to the email address entered on the form.
Where do rectification and re-inspection details get saved?
Because the workflow waits for both the bricklayer's rectification task and the inspector's re-inspection task, the details entered on each (rectification notes, photos, re-inspection result and notes) are saved directly onto the inspection record. You can see the full history in the record's timeline.
How long does it take to get from failed check to final sign-off?
That depends on how quickly the bricklayer and inspector complete their assigned tasks, since the workflow sets task deadlines of 2 days for rectification and 1 day for re-inspection but doesn't control how fast people act. With up to 2 rectification cycles built in, the record's status and timeline always show exactly where it stands.
Can I see the status of all inspections at a glance?
Yes. Each inspection is a record with a reference number, a status such as Submitted, Rectification or Passed, and a timeline of everything that happened. Table views and dashboards in your workspace show records grouped by status so you can track where every job stands.
